Long time no here from, I know..Just wanted to stop by and share a new track I produced with Hydrogen Drums. I was looking for that heavy hip hop feel. FYI,for a harder Hip Hop sound & for heavier bass, try using GuitarX (free software) Or for this particular production I used The Harrision Mixbus which is really the Harrison Mixbus Virtual console working in conjunction with Ardour DAW.The Mixbus has a free demo version which is what I started off with but eventually I upgraded to a licensed version.Hydrogen and the Mixbus route music apps via Qjackctl
Thats all for now. I will be back shortly with new tracks. Our all Open Source Album is almost finished.>! Peace & Blessing

Hydrogen Drums via The Harrison Mixbus
This is just too good to be true.. Ardour has teamed up with Harrison Consoles to bring us the Mixbus. I was working exclusively with Hydrogen Drums & Ardour , using Jammin' for mixing, then I stumbled-upon the Mixbus and it changing everything. I had been trying to get that Hardcore Underground Hip Hop Sound through various Open Source Software's. As Always , more knowledge needed to light the way. Its bee said that Michael Jackson used the harrison mix console to record his thriller album. After several weeks with it and several more weeks of you tube video surfing (my college of choice) I started to grasp the concept. Every knob, slider & effect is relevant towards recording a quality song. In a recent interview with Jen Wike with Opensource.com we spoke about the All Open Source Hip Hop ablum that my group was recording. I believe Hydrogen drums combined with The Harrison Mixbus puts the finishing touches on a beautiful Open source audio masterpiece.

The Era of the Self-Sufficient MC.
It was hard enough trying to write a song without a beat, Then seeing the monetary requirements for getting a decent producer to throw you some beats proved to be another hurdle..I always attempted to rationalize this scenario, thinking, is not the MC just as important as the beat/producer? It cost to produce..but it also cost to write, to dig deep into your soul and pull out sum gems. If its real, it damn near hurts to deliver ..! But never do you hear the MC charging outlandish prices to rock on a track. We do it with honor, we look @ it as a privilege as well should any true Hip Hopper with that "pure" hip hop vision in mind. This game has become a free-for-all and needs desperately to return to its roots. For the love of Music and not for the Love of Money. Enter the Era of the self Sufficient MC, You know the sayin' you want something done right , gotta do it your self. And at the rate this economy is falling apart. Who has the dough to pay sum high priced post 911 polyphonic rap era producer to do for you what you should have been doing for your self. (create damn it!) It is for the moment, a free world so take advantage of the free resources available to you.
Believe me, the energy it will take to seek outside help would best serve you by expanding your knowledge base..ONE! Bring the Real back!!!
